Descripción: | The author, Claudia Alejandra Pureco, describes a performance of the “dance of the old men”, which accompanies the seating of the Child God in Acachuén. This is one of the most famous and representative dances of the Pátzcuaro Lake region and, perhaps, the dance with which the Purepechas are identified both nationally and internationally. The Pureco text gives us the opportunity to see the meaning of another of the manifestations of Purepecha “custom”, this one better known than that presented by Márquez, but both equally part of the culture. |
